Coventry and Plantation Homes Lower the Temp on Energy Bills, Beat the Heat

The heat is on in Houston, but Coventry Homes and Plantation Homes have a promotion that will lower the temperature on energy bills for years to come.

Through the “Beat the Heat” sales event, the builders will prepay two years’ worth of electricity bills for people buying a new home from May 12 through June 30. The incentive is valid for all of the builders’ Houston-area communities and for buyers in Coventry Homes’ Build On Your Lot program.

“There’s no getting around the fact that summers are hot in Houston, but buyers won’t see that reflected in their energy bills,” said Paul Blackburn, region president for McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc., (MHI), parent company of Coventry Homes and Plantation Homes. “Our homes are built ‘EcoSmart’ and meet the platinum level standards of the Environments for Living program so they will continue to see savings beyond the two- year promotional period.”

Coventry Homes builds homes priced from the $300,000s to more than $1 million in 30 top-selling communities. Plantation Homes is active in 17 Houston-area communities, with prices from the $190,000s to nearly $500,000.

Parent company MHI has been building homes in Texas for more than 25 years and offers designs in Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio, in addition to Houston.
