Plantation, Coventry Homes Promote Smart Home Package

Home buyers can start the new year with a home automation system tailored to their unique needs when they purchase a new home from Coventry Homes or Plantation Homes.

During the Smart Start Sales Event, Jan. 10 to Feb. 2, Houston-area buyers will receive $3,000 toward a Control4 smart home automation system with the purchase of their new home.

“When our customers purchase a new home, they will be able customize their smart home devices just like they choose their structural options and upgrades,” said Paul Blackburn, region president for McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc., (MHI), parent company of Coventry Homes and Plantation Homes. “That way they will get the most out of their smart living experience.”

Buyers will set up a separate appointment with smart home experts who will walk them through the various options available to them through the Control4 platform.

The builders researched approximately 15 to 20 technology platforms before settling on Control4, a leading provider of personalized automation and control solutions.

“The Control4 platform makes it easy for homeowners to control every device in the house,” Blackburn said. “It’s very intuitive and works with almost any smart home product.”

The Control4 platform can be utilized with more than 11,000 smart devices such as audio, video, cameras, alarm systems and more. All devices can be controlled via a smart phone or tablet.

“Buyers don’t want a one-size-fits-all smart home package,” Blackburn said. “They want an easy way to customize their technology experience. Control4 allows them to pick the features that work best for them. Something that fits well with our ‘Built Around You’ philosophy.”

Coventry Homes is active in 25 communities in and around Houston with homes priced from the $220,000s to more than $1 million. Plantation Homes builds in 16 Houston-area communities with homes priced from the $190,000s to the $360,000s.
